I had my first litter of Bulldogs when I was 19 years and due to the hard work didn’t
really breed again for a few years. In 1991 I was lucky enough to buy a female called
Fairwather Lady Bella from a really nice family called the Chalfonts in Hemel Hempstead.
Although at the time I had no idea how well Lil is bred she was a daughter of Ch.
Bonifacio's Raymond and a female called Hollyberry. I believe that Sue Garside of
the world famous ICEGLINT had a female from this litter also. Raymond had a pedigree
to die for with such dogs backing him up as:
· Ch. Storming Passion at Ocobo
· Ch.
Quintic Amos of Ocobo
· Ch. Ocobo Skipper
· Ch. Merriveen Happy Days
· Ch. Kingrock
Captain Cristian
· Ch. Outdoors Jubilent
· Ch. Aldridge Advent Gold
Our second bulldog
also had a great pedigree, she was a daughter of Tugga Tough Decision, she was born
24th November 1991 and we lost her early 2002. I was at the Incorporated Show in
Luton 2002, and was talking with Pat Dellar of the famous Merriveen Kennels, and
I told her that I had just lost a daughter of Tugga Tough Decision and she asked
me what I had bred her to when she was alive, I replied that ‘I did not breed her’.
Pat's
Words: "WHAT, ARE YOU STUPID?!"
IF ONLY I KNEW WHAT I HAD... WE LIVE AND LEARN!!!
We
took Pat's advice and we are living and learning, I have a definite way that I like
to breed the bulldogs, and we strive for type, but most importantly they must be
healthy. I am also a pedigree person, I have never sided with one famous kennel or
copied the famous kennels, I am a firm believer in incorporating the worlds best
dogs and the worlds best producing dogs into my my dogs, I
have never been one for
running off to breed to this champion or that champion, I will always use dogs with
great producing pedigrees with the hope that we produce great BULLDOGS!!!
